Event Details
We are excited to announce that on November 15-16, our campus will host the Department of Philosophy’s Relativism Conference. Relativism is nowadays a widely debated topic in philosophy and an issue at the center of Richard Rorty's reflections in Philosophy and the Mirror of Nature (1979). On the 40th anniversary of the publication of Rorty's masterpiece, this conference will offer an opportunity to revisit the issue and Rorty's legacy in philosophy and critical theory, by bringing together renowned international scholars.
The conference will feature two days of research presentations, panels, and empirical findings from scholars both in and outside of UCI. Each presenter brings a unique viewpoint on the controversial subject matter, giving attendees an opportunity to experience respectful discourse.
Lunch will be provided for registered participants only.
