College is a time for students to explore questions of great meaning and to develop writing, analytical, and speaking skills that will serve them for a lifetime. In these uncertain economic times, students seek out educational avenues that will afford them the greatest return on their investment. A liberal arts education, which typically includes studies in humanities, sociology, philosophy, history and literature, is more than just developing well-rounded and broad-minded students; it’s deeper. Liberal arts programs aim to teach students interpretive, cultural, language and research skills.

We are invested in cultivating global citizens. The School of Humanities focuses on the core principles that shape and mold future generations of our global society. We think about how the humanities engrain intrinsic values necessary for a more informed, well-rounded individual. We’re proud to say that we’ve developed the “laboratory for a creative mind” which serves to provide our students with superior written and verbal skills and the ability to analyze and explore alternative ways of approaching life both in and outside of the classroom. And the payoffs are quantifiable. As more of our students pursue internships, graduate school, and academic and professional careers the foundation they received at UC Irvine makes them stand apart from their peers.

Your gift, regardless of size, will have an impact, so I hope you will consider investing in the faculty, students, and programs of the UC Irvine School of Humanities.

Thank you for your continued support.
