Join us on the beautiful campus of Harbor Christian Church, across from the Upper Newport Bay Ecological Preserve, for scenes from "La Belle et la Bête," which premiered at UC Irvine in April 2025. The show was directed by Annie Loui, Professor of Drama and artistic director of CounterBalance Theater, a company dedicated to constructing physical theater based on great works of literature.

At this performance/demonstration, Annie and her team will share the artistry of "La Belle et la Bête." Experience first hand the creative techniques that actors use to become animals and plants. Learn how theater can become a tool of environmental imagination and transformation.

This event is part of EarthRise Climate Action Festival, sponsored by the Wildland-Urban Interface Climate Action Network. Please join us for a day of transformative workshops, panels, and activities, beginning with "La Belle et la Bête"! And stay for an evening with two powerful authors dedicated to changing the world through art, faith, and science.

Free and open to all!
