Andrew Highsmith was the recipient of the 2016 AHA-Pacific Branch Award for Demolition Means Progress. Andrew also won (with co-author Ansley Erickson) the History of Education Society Prize for the article, Segregation as Splitting, Segregation as Joining: Schools, Housing, and the Many Modes of Jim Crow.
