Comparative Literature Ph.D. student, Glaydah Namukasa, presented her work and did a reading at a conference at UC Santa Barbara, “Cameroon Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow,” on April 20, 2023. Her talk was entitled “Language and the Givenness of History.” She also did a reading of the poem, “Walk With Me,” by Cameroonian scholar and author, Elisabeth Ayuk-Etang, who also participated in the one-day conference, which was part of UCSB’s “Race Matters” series. Namukasa is the author of two novels, Voice of a Dream and Deadly Ambition. She is a member of FEMRITE, the Ugandan Women Writers’ Association.
