Matt Combs, PhD candidate, co-edited and contributed to recently published 1943: China at the Crossroads. In addition to his contribution, Yidi Wu, PhD candidate, and three USI Masters Alumni, Dan Knorr, Tom Worger and Chuning Xie also contributed.
Many of the book chapters started out as seminar papers for a research seminar at UCSD in Winter-Spring 2012. Then with help from the UCI History Department and UCI's Center for Asian Studies, the editors hosted a workshop at Irvine in the spring of 2013 that helped finalize early papers and bring in some new chapters for what has now officially become the publication.
