LETTER FROM THE AGE OF ECOCIDE is a cinematic underwater short film about eco-anxiety. In the film, a woman navigates the stages of grief as she loses her beloved home, and is guided by the poetry of her ancient Persian ancestors (namely Omar Khayyam and Ferdowsi) to a place of ecological healing. Ideas of impermanence and radical acceptance, central to Persian literary tradition, remind her to let go of that which she can't control, and motivate her to work harder for the home she loves. A Q&A with the director Shireen Rahimi and executive producer Ivan Williams will follow the screening.

This event is co-sponsored by the Samuel Jordan Center for Persian Studies and Culture and by the Department of Film and Media Studies.
