The 16th Rio de la Plata Workshop is an annual academic meeting on the history of the colonial and nineteenth-century Rio de la Plata region, held most often at the College of William & Mary, and also at Roosevelt University, the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, and Brigham Young University. For nearly two decades, this workshop has fostered research collaboration and scholarly exchange among scholars in the United States, the Río de la Plata, and Brazil. This meeting serves as a workshop on forthcoming publications about the history of this region. For instance, participants have created this edited volume: The Rio de la Plata from Colony to Nations: Commerce, Society, and Politics
