Join us on Friday, October 27th for the Film and Media Studies Virtual Coffee and Internship Event! Grab your favorite cup of joe and come learn all about the importance of internships within the film industry, the best methods for increasing your network, and career opportunities after graduation. Hosted by Film and Media Studies professor Desha Dauchan, this event will provide you with knowledge on how to break into the industry.

Curious about first-hand experience in the industry? Our guest speaker, Victor Adame (UCI FMS Class of 2021), will break down his own creative journey, navigating the film industry as a Film and Media Studies alumnus. Victor is a Chicano screenwriter-actor based in Los Angeles. A Riverside, California native, Victor is passionate about telling stories that rewrite stereotypes and explore the Latinx diaspora. On top of holding an MFA in Screenwriting from Chapman University, Victor has worked with companies such as Sundance and The Black List, and was also part of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ 2022 Gold Rising Program. With his scripts, he has placed at competitions such as the Austin Film Festival, Humanitas, and Screencraft Screenwriting Fellowship where he was in the top fifty of over three thousand applicants. He is now in development on his first feature film that he wrote and will star in.

This event is free and open to all majors!
