Please join us for a luncheon meeting with pathbreaking filmmaker Petna Ndaliko Katondolo, a memory keeper and storyteller with the Elephant kinship spirit and founder of Yole! Africa, a center for arts education in Goma, Democratic Republic of Congo. Katondolo's works are acclaimed for their African futuristic style, which engages historical content to address contemporary sociopolitical and cultural issues.
Ndaliko Katondolo is the founder of Yolé! Africa, a wholistic center for arts education. His most recent film, Ndjimu (2025) won an award for “Best Documentary Short” at the Rotterdam International Film Festival in February. Clips from several of Ndaliko Katondolo’s film works will be shown.
This event is co-sponsored by UCI Environmental Humanities Research Center, the Humanities Center, and the Department of Film and Media Studies.
