During his address at the 2021 UCI Convocation Ceremony, Chancellor Gillman indicated that there are some fundamental virtues that aid us as Anteaters in our shared pursuit of knowledge. UCI has developed a campus-wide initiative, the UCI Anteater Virtues Project, that endeavors to develop inquisitive thinkers who model the virtues of curiosity, integrity, intellectual humility, and intellectual tenacity.
These virtues will help UCI students to work collaboratively, skillfully engage with the intellectual puzzles of our era, and as Chancellor Gillman went on to note, to “participate in the life of a great scholarly community.”
