Give a round of applause for Mario Segura and Hanna Wolf, who created a natural tree structure with photovoltaic solar leaves and a vertical wind turbine to generate power and took home the $10,000 grand prize at the Inventor Collegiate Challenge! 🌳🏆👏 As the overall winner of the competition, they also earned a slot at a national competition organized by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) this fall. The second team from Oregon Tech, BioMass Gas, also received high honors, earning fourth place!

With an overall school GPA of 3.47 Oregon Tech Student-Athletes led the Cascade Collegiate Conference as every Owl team earned Presidents' Academic Excellence status for the recently completed 2020-21 school year. Great work, Owls!

Props to the student team from Oregon Tech, Electerro for claiming the top prize at this year’s Invent Oregon competition! Electerro’s prototype is a solar and wind generator built to resemble a birch tree which promises to deliver power without the impact of utility-scale electricity generation.

We were named to the Military Times’ 2021 Best for Vets: Colleges list! Military Times annually ranks participating four-year colleges and universities based on which ones do the most for U.S. veterans. This year, Oregon Tech appeared as one of only three Oregon universities on the list. 🎉
