The June Alumni Spotlight Story shines brightly on Jeri Marshall. Jeri was recruited to play basketball for the Hustlin' Owls in the mid-1970s. After leaving the school, Jeri went on to earn advanced degrees and has spent most of his career working in higher education. His work in the community is truly inspiring and it's no wonder why he was awarded an Outstanding Alumni Service award from Oregon Tech in 2007. The spring 2021 Oregon Tech Project Symposium is a highly anticipated event, which allows the public to view the highly inventive and innovative projects Oregon Tech students are creating. And just like that, my clinical externship is DONE! It has been a crazy, challenging, wonderful, overwhelming, fantastic year full of personal and professional growth. Anyone who knows me can assume (correctly) that I’m feeling allllll the emotions today, so I’ll keep it short…ish and simple…ish. I want to say the biggest thank you to my family. For letting me cry and telling me not to give up on the hard days, and celebrating my victories with me on the good days. And for believing in me every day in between.

Last Saturday, the Oregon Tech Student Veterans Program rallied in support of the community by gathering at the downtown Klamath Falls Veterans Memorial Park for a massive cleanup effort. During the cleanup, the SVP collected trash in the park area, pressure washed the memorial structures, and cleaned and polished plaques. The student comradery and community support are an inspiration and we are proud of their continued compassion.

Oregon Tech academic and administrative offices are closed on Monday, May 31st in observance of Memorial Day. The National Moment of Remembrance is an annual event that asks Americans, wherever they are at 3:00 p.m. local time on Memorial Day, to pause for a duration of one minute to remember those who have died in military service to the United States. 🇺🇲
