Intercultural Communication (ICC/VR) Lab: Innovating Cross-Cultural Understanding

The Intercultural Communication (ICC/VR) Lab is a cutting-edge research and experiential learning space dedicated to exploring and enhancing communication across cultures through immersive technologies, including virtual reality (VR). By simulating real-world cultural interactions, the lab helps students and researchers develop a deeper understanding of diverse perspectives and improve their intercultural competence.

Through innovative VR scenarios, interactive workshops, and collaborative research projects, the ICC/VR Lab creates an environment where participants can refine their communication skills, overcome cultural barriers, and foster mutual understanding. The lab also supports faculty-led initiatives, integrating technology-driven solutions to address challenges in cross-cultural dialogue, business communication, and global teamwork.

Whether preparing students for global careers or conducting research on intercultural dynamics, the ICC/VR Lab is a key initiative in UCI’s mission to equip individuals with the skills needed to thrive in a globally connected world.
