Intercultural Communication (ICC) VR Research Lab: Innovating Cross-Cultural Understanding

The Intercultural Communication (ICC) VR Research Lab is a cutting-edge research and experiential learning space dedicated to exploring and enhancing communication across cultures through immersive technologies, including virtual reality (VR). By simulating real-world cultural interactions, the lab helps students and researchers develop a deeper understanding of diverse perspectives and improve their intercultural competence.

Through innovative VR scenarios, interactive workshops, and collaborative research projects, the ICC VR Lab creates an environment where participants can refine their communication skills, overcome cultural barriers, and foster mutual understanding. The lab also supports faculty-led initiatives, integrating technology-driven solutions to address challenges in cross-cultural dialogue, business communication, and global teamwork.

Whether preparing students for global careers or conducting research on intercultural dynamics, the ICC VR Lab is a key initiative in UCI’s mission to equip individuals with the skills needed to thrive in a globally connected world.

If you are interested in research collaboration, please contact ICC Lab director, Dr. Jung-Hsien Lin at junghsil@uci.edu.
