Please join us for a talk titled "How to Kill a Dragon in Ancient Iran" by Manya Saadi-nejad.

Manya Saadi-nejad is a scholar and visual artist from Tehran, Iran. She has been living in Montreal since 2004, and teaches at Concordia University where she co-founded Canada's first Centre for Iranian Studies. Ms. Saadi-nejad recently submitted her doctoral dissertation, entitled “Anahita: Transformations of an Iranian Goddess,” to Freie Universität in Berlin, Germany. She also holds an M.A. in Ancient Iranian Languages and Culture, and studied for two years in the doctoral program at the Sorbonne in Paris.

Accomplished in both traditional Persian miniature and contemporary artistic styles, Ms. Saadi-nejad taught painting for many years and has had numerous exhibitions in Iran and Canada. She has been formally accredited by the Museum of Contemporary Art in Tehran.
