Farhang Foundation Lectures in Iranian Studies

Each year, the Jordan Center for Persian Studies invites an outstanding artist, musician or scholar to deliver a series of lectures on contemporary Iran. The lectures are supported through a generous annual grant from the Farhang Foundation.

Iraj Afshar Lecture Series

The Center for Jordan Studies presents a lecture every two years in memory of the great Iranian scholar and bibliophile, Iraj Afshar, on a topic related to his interests.  The lectures focus on Persian history, the art of the book or geographical studies.

Semnani Family Foundation Lectures in Memory of Richard N. Frye

Through a generous grant from the Semnani Family Foundation, the Jordan Center presents a biennial lecture on ancient Iranian world in honor of the great scholar and Irandoost, Richard Nelson Frye.  Appropriately referred to as “dean of the world’s Iranists” by other scholars, Dr. Frye of Harvard University has researched and taught the cultural history of Iran, Central Asia and the Near East for over six decades.

All lectures are recorded and available for viewing on the Jordan Center’s past lectures website. Lectures may also be available as publications.  To request publications, contact the Jordan Center.
