SPAN 108: Spanish for the Professions: Community Service Learning Experience In SPAN 108: Spanish for the Professions, you will be introduced to several professional areas and develop an introductory understanding of language used for different contexts within these areas: business and entrepreneurship, health care, the legal system, bilingual education, and media and technology. An integral component of this course is the opportunity to apply what you are learning in and out of the classroom in real-world settings through your Community Service Learning project! This hands-on experience allows you to engage directly with local organizations, learning from and about our community while providing language support in a field of your own interest. Whether assisting a non-profit, contributing to a bilingual initiative, or participating in an internship, you'll have the opportunity to develop career-ready skills while building community connections and making a meaningful impact. Through these projects you will connect with the community, enhance your intercultural competence, and gain practical experience that will set you apart in your future profession.
