The School of Humanities centers values in a world where science and technology are driving rapid and unprecedented changes in the human experience. In a contemporary world of “move fast and break things,” the humanities question the ethical, spiritual, cultural, political and historical dimensions of our philosophies and modes of action. We ask questions like: should we do something just because we can? What alternatives have been left unexplored? What can the past and diverse cultures teach us about our present choices and decisions?
The humanities encourages students to push beyond instrumental thinking in order to understand and intervene in the grand challenges of our time. Discover some of the ways in which humanities scholars center values in a world of bytes.
