The Michael and Stacey Koehn Graduate Student Summer Fellowship in Critical Theory
A call for applications, Summer 2025
Thanks to the generosity of Michael and Stacey Koehn, Critical Theory at UCI is happy to award two endowed summer research and writing fellowships, each in the amount of $6,000.
Eligibility:
Applicants must be enrolled in a Humanities Ph.D. program and registered in the Critical Theory Emphasis. They must have taken the Critical Theory Workshop (Hum 260) or be registered in it for the current academic year.
Applicants should provide the following:
1. A statement (of no more than two pages) describing how Critical Theory is related to their specific focus in graduate studies or to their dissertation project. The statement should also specify to what ends students will put the fellowship and what the expected outcomes are (e.g., travel for archival or field work, time for researching and/or writing a dissertation chapter/s, time for completing and publishing a standalone article, etc).
2. A writing sample related to Critical Theory (15-25 pages, double spaced).
3. A copy of their CV
