When Pam Ward, a young single mother, learned about the Oakland Community School, she gained invaluable knowledge teaching at OCS and as a comrade in the revolutionary Black Panther Party. She eventually earned a Master’s degree from Stanford University and has made a life-long commitment to the well-being of the community.
