Humanities Out There Teaching Fellow, 2017-18

Humanities Out There was founded in 1997 to promote service learning and public engagement for humanities graduate and undergraduate students. In 2015-2016, H.O.T. began a new partnership with the Bowers Kidseum in Santa Ana to provide afterschool program interns.  The museum setting and urban environment provide unique opportunities for exchange and engagement with children in K-8 grades. The Humanities Out There Teaching Fellow supervises up to 20 undergraduates each quarter. Duties include: leading weekly class for undergraduate interns; visiting the Bowers site at least once weekly to observe student tutors; reporting on and evaluating activities to Humanities Commons’ leadership; and participating in Humanities Commons events around public humanities and public engagement.

Compensation
Teaching Assistantship: Fall 2017 / Winter 2018 / Spring 2018
Summer stipend following TA year of $4,000 to support dissertation research and writing.
