What happens if the recently landed Mars Rover, Perseverance, encounters mud or water? It would need to abandon its route. But Oregon Tech students are working on a new concept and design that would allow an amphibious submarine (Rover Sub) the ability to move around muddy areas with wheels and explore underwater with thrusters similar to a submarine.
Teams are also working on RoboSub V2, an unmanned, untethered submarine system they'll take to an international competition this summer.
