We Welcome Your Support
There are many opportunities to support UCI's unique approach to interdisciplinary Religious Studies. Below is a sample list of our future planning goals. Please feel free to bring your ideas big and small for an exploratory conversation.

Religion and Science Lectureship
Building on our grant from the Templeton Foundation in May 2023, we are excited to grow this part of our unique curriculum. Approximately $9,000 per year will enable us to hire a lecturer to continue offering this class from 2026 onward after our grant period ends.
Student Awards
Each year, we offer several awards to promising and advanced scholarship in Religious Studies which supports our students in tangible ways. A gift of $2,400, for example, could translate to six years of annual $400 awards in honor of a loved one or theme of Ultimate Concern.
Endowed Chairs
Religious Studies is home to two endowed chairs: The Shri Parshvanath Presidential Chair in Jain Studies and the Ferdowsi Presidential Chair in Zoroastrian Studies.
We welcome any and all endowment inquiries related to major and minor religious communities and worldviews, as well as chairs related to applied or comparative areas such as (but certainly not limited to): Comparative Justice, Gender and Religion, Global Africana Religions, Environment/Ecology/Climate and Religion, or others.
Support a UCI Center for Nonviolence Studies
As an interdisciplinary center exploring planetary perspectives on violence, nonviolence, and possible futures of greater flourishing for the human and more-than-human communities, the UCI Center for Nonviolence Studies would sponsor research, difficult dialogs, and student internships, among many other possible goals.
