Michael and Stacey Koehn Endowed Fellowship in Critical Theory

Applicants must be enrolled in a Humanities Ph.D. program and registered in the Critical Theory Emphasis. They must have taken the Critical Theory Workshop (Hum 260) or be registered in it for the current academic year. They must also must have taken at least two Humanities 270 seminars prior to holding the assistantship. Traditionally the awardee oversees the organization of the annual Undergraduate Critical Theory Conference in the Spring quarter subsequent to the award. Applicants must provide the following:

1.       A statement (no more than two pages) describing how Critical Theory is related to their specific focus in graduate studies.
2.       A writing sample related to Critical Theory (maximum 25 pages, double spaced).
3.       A letter of evaluation from the chair of the qualifying exam committee or dissertation committee.

Award consists of a $3,000 Summer Stipend for Summer 2017 and a $7,000 stipend, in-state tuition, and fees for Fall quarter 2017.
