Reading Hegel's Aesthetics

Meets biweekly beginning February 4th, 2026.

HIB 137 | Wednesday, 1-2 PM

This is a reading group of G. W. F. Hegel (1770–1831). In 2026 the reading is the Aesthetics, a course on the philosophy of art.

The gathering is an assumption of the task to bring together and facilitate an intellectual exchange in a milieu that is non-philosophical and open to non-technical interpretations and usages of the system of absolute idealism. The collaboration is subtended by a conviction in multifarious and at times unforeseen enrichments that the teaching of Hegelianism can be the germinating force for, a motivation for the fortnightly hourly congregations in-person and on campus.

Support from the Humanities Center.
