A Just Future: Getting from Diversity and Inclusion to Equity and Justice in Higher Education
In response to the events of 2020, a multiracial coalition of students, staff, and faculty directed attention to how histories of white supremacy and systemic racism continue to shape academia. These actions laid bare the unfinished business of the Civil Rights era on college campuses. Drawing on abolitionist frameworks of social change, A Just Future identifies new values, tools, and mindsets to address—and redress—ongoing forms of oppression that thrive on college campuses.
