Quinn Slobodian is a prize-winning author and professor of international history at the Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies at Boston University. A contributor to the New York Times, New York Review of Books, and Boston Review, among other publications, his books Globalists and Crack-Up Capitalism were published to wide acclaim in 2018 and 2023. This event will launch his latest work, Hayek's Bastards: Race, Gold, IQ, and the Capitalism of the Far Right, published by Zone Books/Princeton University Press on April 15 of this year. The launch will take the form of a dialogue between Slobodian and Chelsea Schields, UCI Associate Professor of History and the author of the prize-winning Offshore Attachments: Oil and Intimacy in the Caribbean (UC Press, 2023).
