SCREEN DANCE, TRANSNATIONAL AIDS MEMORY, AND SOMATIC PRAXIS ACROSS TIJUANA & SPAIN
Please join us for an upcoming lecture by Professor Julián Gutiérrez-Albilla (USC, Spanish and Portuguese, Gender Studies, and Comparative Literature)
Combining choreography, film, and somatic
research, this presentation explores how
historical trauma, collective memory, and
vulnerability is embodied throughout
France, Spain, and the Americas through
queer diasporic histories and artistic
legacies. It advances “Embodied
Hispanism,” an approach to Latin
American, Iberian, and Transnational
Cultural Studies grounded in embodied
experience and an ethic of coexistence.
