In this partnership with the Laguna Beach Senior Center, participants will read and discuss Much Ado About Nothing with Julia Lupton, in five online sessions in April.
Much Ado About Nothing is one of Shakespeare’s most popular comedies, thanks to the electricity between the sparring Beatrice and Benedick and the romantic subplot involving the slandering of young Hero and the gullibility of the feckless Claudio. For men returning from war, love represents a new battleground where wit is a weapon and trust is under fire.
4:00-5:30 pm, April 1, 8, 15, 22, and 29.
The class is full and registration is now closed; please contact Julia Lupton, jrlupton@uci.edu, if you are interested in joining.
Free and open to all; no prior experience with the play is required.
