This event is an opportunity to learn more about Christian O. Paiz’s book, The Strikers of Coachella: A Rank-and-File History of the UFW Movement (UNC Press, 2021). His book presentation and discussion will center on the lives of Filipino and Mexican farm workers in the United Farm Worker (UFW) Movement from the 1940s to the 1990s.

Christian O. Paiz is an Associate professor in Ethnic Studies at UC Berkeley. He teaches courses on Latinx Studies, social movements, and inter-racial relations.
