Kat Cosby is a Doctoral Candidate at the UC Irvine History PhD Program, who is currently completing her doctoral thesis, "Flowers Grew Out of the Asphalt: Black Women’s Residences and Home Place in Sao Paulo, 1889-1930," with the support of a Mellon/ACLS Dissertation Completion Fellowship.
