Artmaking and Autoethnography as Healing Methodology:
Undocumented Young Adults’ Return to the Homeland

The Center for Liberation, Anti-Racism, and Belonging (C-LAB) invites you to explore
“What’s in your research justice tool box?”

Healing methodology centers how researchers can advance justice during the research process to heal violence and trauma. Presenters will share how they used healing methods to document the experiences of DACA recipients as they returned to visit their homelands for the first time in decades.

Join us to learn from guest speakers and to experiment with healing methodology
as a research and teaching tool.

Featuring:

  • Collective artmaking with Laura Enriquez, Associate Professor of Chicano/Latino Studies
  • Filmmaking with Agustin Garcia Meza, UCI Film and Media Studies Undergraduate Student
  • Autoethnographic journaling with Jenniffer Perez Lopez, UCI Sociology Ph.D. Student
