Fri, Oct. 17 & Sat, Oct. 18, 2025 | Various Sessions

Organized by Professor Rocío Pichon-Rivière, this symposium brings together well-known, published writers and educators from universities across the United States to explore creative writing as a space for care, community-building, and bilingual expression. With a focus on historical and collective trauma, participants will share approaches to teaching and practicing writing that honor diverse voices and experiences.

Sponsored by the intercampus UCHRI project Latinx Stories of Care and Repair: Community-Engaged Bilingual Narrative Medicine, this event aims to cultivate spaces of learning and connection, centering Latinx communities and their wide bilingual range.
