Kaori Oda, one of Japan's foremost contemporary documentary filmmakers, will join us for a screening of their 2024 film Underground, followed by a live Q&A. Shot entirely on 16mm film, Underground poetically traces the subterranean landscapes of Japan in order to exhume buried histories, including the wartime violence inflicted upon the islands of Okinawa.
