Join us on February 21st at 1:00 PM we screen ANXIOUS., an award-winning feature film by Film and Media Studies Alumna Nida Chowdhry (class of 2009). The film follows Ruby as she has an anxiety attack and trips down the rabbit hole of her mind, where she meets versions of herself who take over her life. Inspired by the surrealism of Eternal Sunshine, quirky characters of Amelie, and whirlwind journey of Alice in Wonderland, Writer/Director Nida Chowdhry stars in this surreal dark comedy marking her debut feature film. This fast-paced fashion film is set against the colorful backdrops of Little Saigon and Little India in Orange County, California. A Q&A with Nida will follow directly after the screening. Learn all about Nida's inspiration, process, and her journey from an FMS student to a full fledged filmmaker!

More about Nida Chowdhry:
Nida Chowdhry is a Pakistani-American writer, director, and actor from Orange County, California. She created, wrote and directed the ‘Arrested Development’-inspired web series ‘Unfair & Ugly’, a dramedy about a South Asian Muslim-American family in 'The OC' trying to keep it together (Refinery29, NBC, Aljazeera). As a TV Writer, Nida has written over 30 episodes of studio television including for ‘Young Justice’ (HBO Max), ‘Mira, Royal Detective’ (Disney), ‘Work It Out Wombats’ (PBS), and ‘Kitti Katz’ (Netflix). She staffed on the #1 Netflix show 'CoComelon Lane' and is currently staffed on an upcoming Disney show.
