You’ve been told multiple times to make sure your skills as a researcher are framed as “transferable”… but what does that actually look like in practice? LinkedIn has drastically changed the face of the job market over the past decade, and a couple of hours spent optimizing your profile is a great investment if you’re considering a future outside of faculty positions. Olivia Hanninen (UCI Alum, History PhD 2021) talks through her transition from PhD to the corporate world, and will share strategies for framing your experiences for non-academic audiences and maximizing your chances of attracting the attention of recruiters.
Olivia will also talk about ECA Partners and will interview interested humanities PhD students who are near degree completion the following week for their paid internship program. She is a Project Manager at ECA Partners, an Executive Search and Consultancy Firm headquartered in Santa Monica.
