Loretta Ramirez is Associate Professor of Latinx Rhetoric & Composition, and Chair of the Chicano and Latino Studies Department, Cal State Long Beach. Professor Ramirez will discuss her recent dissertation-to-book which has won a number of awards including Honorable Mention for the 2025 MLA Prize in United States Latina and Latino and Chicana and Chicano Literary and Cultural Studies. She will also preview her current project with the working title Get Back to Where You Once Belonged: Racial and Rhetorical Ruptures from the U.S. War in Vietnam to Chicano Studies Today—Field Notes from a Chair.
